Deluxe Room
A calm, well-lit heritage room with a carved sheesham bed, blue velvet armchairs and hand-stencilled Mewar ceiling motifs.
The Chronicles Hotel · Udaipur, Rajasthan
Twenty antique-filled rooms, a rooftop restaurant that looks straight at the City Palace, and a team that treats you like family. A 15-minute walk from the ghats.

Chapter I · The house
Behind a sandstone facade of carved jharokhas, The Chronicles is a small hotel that feels like a lived-in Udaipur haveli — carved sheesham furniture, glass and crystal wall art, hand-stencilled Mewar motifs on every ceiling.
It is also a thoroughly modern stay: air-conditioning, fast Wi-Fi, a lift and spotless marble bathrooms. We sit on quiet Trident Road in Haridas Ji Ki Magri, between the Aravalli hills and the old city — close enough to walk to Lake Pichola, far enough from the traffic to sleep well.
Chapter II · The rooms
Three room types, all with a king bed, air-conditioning, minibar, safe and a modern bathroom. Book direct for our best available rate.

A calm, well-lit heritage room with a carved sheesham bed, blue velvet armchairs and hand-stencilled Mewar ceiling motifs.

Warm oak-wood floors, a carved antique daybed and traditional wall motifs — our most popular room for couples.

Our largest room: a hand-carved white jaali headboard, a separate sitting corner and a bathroom with a freestanding tub.
Chapter III · The rooftop
Ours is one of the tallest rooftops in the neighbourhood, so the whole skyline is yours — the City Palace, the old city, Sajjangarh on the hill and the Aravallis turning violet at sunset.
Come up for breakfast in the morning light, or stay for dinner when the palace lights up and our singer plays unplugged sets. The kitchen cooks both vegetarian and non-vegetarian — Rajasthani favourites, tandoor, Indian curries and continental plates.
In our guests’ words
Guests mention the same three things again and again: the view from the roof, clean and spacious rooms, and people who go out of their way.
“First the ambience — one can see everything from the old city to the new city and the lakes. The rooftop is amazing, with live singing in the evening. Food and service are five-star, veg or non-veg.”
“I was attending a medical conference and stayed seven days with my family. They treated us like family. Room space, cleanliness and the included breakfast were top notch.”
“The whole interior is filled with real Indian antiques. Rooms are clean and spacious, and the rooftop restaurant has a very beautiful view of Udaipur.”
“Great location, really pleasant and clean rooms — but what makes this such a good place to stay is the staff. Don’t miss the sunrise and sunset from the roof.”
Chapter IV · The neighbourhood
